VINYL EDDIE NEWSLETTER MAY 2024

Greeting Pop Pickers,

Sitting outside the front of the shop typing this in sunshine. Hard to think that 10 days ago it was about -3°C. With this in mind I want to offer my heartfelt thanks to all of you who queued up on Record Store Day in Baltic conditions and bought widely and well. RSD24 was hailed as one of the best nationally and we were no exception.

In addition to you guys can we thank Rick (for signing our copies of his RSD release) as well as Millie and Katrina for their live musical contribution. Oh and Gracie, Keith and Bill for staffing the place. And relax for the next nine months until RSD25 rears its head.

In the meantime we have had some good pre-owned stuff in. Swing by for a look

We are sorry about our website; the old one died of…old age. The new one is a bit of a mystery to us which only serves to confirm we are rooted in the 1970s. Or for Eddie the 1990s. We will try and learn how it works sometime when we summon up the courage. Anyways we opened a shop ten years ago for you guys to come in and actually look at and test the goods didn’t we?

Connoisseurs Corner

Pride of place I guess goes to the rare ‘Revolver’ withdrawn mix (2:1 matrix). Not common at all; especially in the nice condition that our latest acquisition is…

The 101’ers stuff isn’t common too; ‘Keys To Your Heart’ debut on Chiswick and written by Joe Strummer at the time The Clash released their debut as well.

I like the first Mott The Hoople album. The first time in the shop for years.

Other goodies include Curtis Mayfield ‘Superfly’, ‘Ram it Down’ from Judas Priest and Diamond Heads’ ‘Borrowed Time’.
